Football: Kiwi Sarpreet Singh makes first-team debut with Bayern Munich

Just three weeks after signing with glamour Euro club Bayern Munich, All Whites midfielder Sarpreet Singh has already had a taste of top professional football.

How does Bayern v Arsenal sound?

Singh, 20, has run out for the second half of an International Champions Cup pre-season fixture between the giants at the Dignity Health Tennis Center in Los Angeles.

His unexpected appearance marks a rapid promotion from Wellington Phoenix in the A-League to the German club's top team, albeit an extended line-up that saw 11 halftime substitutions during a 2-1 loss.

Singh only joined the Munich side earlier this month, after spending a week in camp with the reigning German champions - they've won the title 29 times - and five-time UEFA Champions League winners.

He was expected to turn out for the reserve team in the third tier of German football next season, with a chance of pushing for first-team inclusion within 12 months.

He scored in his reserves debut last weekend and this latest appearance would suggest his development is somewhat ahead of schedule.
