NRL Nines 2020: NZ Warriors women chase spot in final

  • 15/02/2020

The Warriors women have fallen to their first loss at the NRL Nines in Perth, going down 29-7 to the St George Illawarra Dragons.

The Kiwis - now wearing the correct jerseys after day one's debacle that forced them to wear their male counterparts' - trailed from the opening to closing whistle.

Some individual brilliance from Apii Nicholls provided a lone bright spot for the New Zealanders, who were comprehensively outplayed.

They'll play their final round-robin game against the Broncos at 9:20pm.

They'll need to win that match and rely on the Roosters beating Dragons to secure a spot in the final, which is scheduled for 11:25pm.
