NRL 2020: Chanel Harris-Tavita, Eliesa Katoa return for NZ Warriors against Newcastle Knights

Half Chanel Harris-Tavita and forward Eliesa Katoa slot straight back into the starting side for the NZ Warriors' NRL encounter with Newcastle Knights in Tamworth on Saturday.

Harris-Tavita returns, after colliding with team Adam Keighran at training last week and undergoing head injury protocols, He replaces Paul Turner, who moves to the extended bench.

Star rookie Katoa was also sidelined for the 20-14 win over the Canterbury Bulldogs, serving a one-match suspension on a dangerous contact charge. Isaiah Papali'i makes way for the 20-year-old, also shifting to the extended bench.

The rest of the side is unchanged from the one that took on the the Bulldogs, including the interchange bench of Wayde Egan, Adam Blair, Daniel Alvaro and Jack Murchie.

The match has a semi-home flavour for the Warriors, as they return to the city that hosted them during their initial two-week Australian quarantine, after returning from New Zealand to resume the season in May.

The small town wholeheartedly embraced the Kiwi team and a sold-out Scully Park is testament to that support.

A win over the surging sixth-placed Knights - who have won their last three games - is critical to the Warriors' slim hopes of clinching a playoff spot.
