Rugby: All Blacks test tickets on sale next week, but Auckland may lose match to Dunedin

All Blacks fans can buy tickets to the first Bledisloe Cup test in Wellington next week, but Auckland may yet lose its test, if COVID-19 levels don't drop in two weeks.

With the Government dropping most of New Zealand to Alert Level 1, NZ Rugby has announced tickets for the October 11 test against Australia will go on pre-sale on Tuesday, September 29, from Ticketek, with public sales beginning two days later.

But the second fixture at Eden Park remains in doubt and NZR has signalled the October 18 test may yet be transferred to Dunedin's Forsyth Barr Stadium, if Auckland is still at Level 2.

Tickets to the Auckland game will go on sale in two weeks, but only if the Government confirms a drop to Level 1.

"We are confident the match will go ahead at Eden Park, but we are also making responsible contingency plans, as we have all the way through COVID-19," says NZR professional rugby & performance general manager Chris Lendrum.

"Our preference and intention is to play the match at Eden Park, but if we can't have crowds due to alert levels, we will look to move the match to Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin.

"Our primary concern is the health and safety of our fans, and we will be guided by the advice of Government and health authorities, when Auckland's alert levels are reviewed on Monday, October 5."

Alert Level 1 opens major events to unlimited crowds outside Auckland, which is still restricted to gatherings no bigger than 100.
