Rugby: Crusaders lock-in versatile Tasman back David Havili on three-year contract extension

Three-test All Black David Havili has re-signed with the Crusaders and Tasman Rugby through the end of 2023, Stuff reports.

Havili says his motivation to remain under the New Zealand Rugby banner is in part, because he wants to add to the three tests he played in 2017.

His new deal will take him through to the next Rugby World Cup, which will be staged in France.

The versatile back, who starred at fullback in Super Rugby Aotearoa, could play in the Crusaders midfield next season, with regular centre Braydon Ennor ruled out of Super Rugby Aotearoa with a knee injury.

The Crusaders also have depth in the outside backs with All Blacks Will Jordan, George Bridge and Sevu Reece other proven internationals for Scott Robertson to select from.
