Rugby: Ardie Savea, Anton Lienert-Brown named to start for All Blacks in second test against Fiji

The All Blacks have welcomed back the star pair of Ardie Savea and Anton Lienert-Brown for the second test against Fiji in Hamilton on Saturday.

Savea, 27, returns to the side after being sidelined by a knee injury since the final round of Super Rugby Trans-Tasman, joining Akira Ioane and Luke Jacobson in the loose forward trio.

Meanwhile, Lienert-Brown missed the start of the All Blacks' season, wins over Tonga and Fiji, after undergoing a minor surgical procedure on his elbow. He'll partner David Havili in midfield.

Both Savea and Lienert-Brown will also notch their 50th test caps.

Elsewhere, Scott Barrett and Sam Whitelock start in the second row, replacing Brodie Retallick - who drops to the bench after starting in the first test against Fiji in Dunedin - and Patrick Tuipulotu.

Richie Mo'unga restakes his claim on the No. 10 jersey over Beauden Barrett, who shifts to the bench. Damian McKenzie will start at fullback, with Jordie Barrett dropping out of the game day squad.

Will Jordan comes into the starting side in place of George Bridge, who misses the matchday side altogether, as Sevu Reece switches to left wing.

On the bench, Angus Ta'avao takes the place of Tyrel Lomax, while Shannon Frizell provides loose forward cover.

Brad Weber returns to the side after missing the first test against Fiji, and takes the place of Finlay Christie on the bench to provide cover for Aaron Smith.

Rieko Ioane takes the No. 23 jersey, providing cover for both midfield and wing.
