NRL 2022: Adam Reynolds returns to haunt South Sydney Rabbitohs in Brisbane Broncos beatdown

  • 06/05/2022

Star half Adam Reynolds led Brisbane Broncos to an emphatic 32-12 win over his former club South Sydney Rabbitohs in their NRL clash on Thursday night.

Before signing a lucrative deal with the Broncos in the off-season, Reynolds played 231 games for the Rabbitohs and helped them win the 2014 title, but returned to wreak havoc at Accor Stadium.

The 31-year-old dictated terms across the park, crossing in the 28th minute and playing a hand in the Broncos' first four tries.

The marquee acquisition missed the round one win due to injury but madeup for it by accounting for 16 of his side's 32-point haul in a one-sided contest.

Broncos' teen sensation Selwyn Cbbo continued his impressive play with a brace of tries, running for 183 metres and making nine tackle breaks.

The Broncos' third-straight win lifts them to sixth on the NRL ladder - one spot above the Rabbitohs, whose fifth loss equal their number of defeats from the entire 2021 season.

The Rabbitohs will try to bounce back against NZ Warriors next Saturday, while the Broncos take on Manly Sea Eagles.
