Kia ora, good afternoon and welcome to Newshub's live coverage of the Pacific Four clash between New Zealand and Canada at Waitākere's Trusts Stadium.

Last week, the Black Ferns began the Wayne Smith era with hard-fought victory over trans-Tasman rivals Australia at a rain-sodden Tauranga Domain. Fielding eight debutant, the new rugby director made life difficult for his charges by demanding an expansive style in conditions that did not suit that approach.

Meteorologists suggest we could be in store for more of the same on Sunday, when the NZ women - ranked second in the world - take on the world No.3 team.

Smith has made eight changes to his starting XV against the Canadians, with two more rookies in line for test debuts. Amy de Plessis will debut at centre, while teenage midfielder Sylvia Brunt is poised for a first appearance off the bench.
