************

Kia ora, good afternoon and welcome to Newshub's live coverage of the first one-day international between the Blackcaps and India, from Auckland's Eden Park.

After a diet of Twenty20 to start the summer, the 50-over game has arrived as we start the run in towards next year's World Cup.

The Blackcaps have retaken the rank of the world's best ODI team, but have their work cut out for them against an experimental Indian outfit.

Even missing the likes of captain Rohit Sharma and star batter Virat Kohli, India have already proven themselves to be more than up to task, winning the T20 series 1-0 over the last week.

The Blackcaps, though, have called in reinforcements of their own, with ODI big guns Matt Henry and Tom Latham boosting the side.

Today's venue, Eden Park, is traditionally one for the batters, with short boundaries and a good pitch almost guaranteed.

Thankfully, there's also next to no chance of mother nature playing havoc either, with a good forecast as far as rain is concerned.

TAB odds: Blackcaps $1.67, India $2.10

Teams (predicted):

Blackcaps: 1-Finn Allen, 2-Devon Conway, 3-Kane Williamson (c), 4-Tom Latham (wk), 5-Daryl Mitchell, 6-Glenn Phillips, 7-James Neesham, 8-Mitchell Santner, 9-Tim Southee, 10-Matt Henry, 11-Lockie Ferguson

India: 1-Shikhar Dhawan (c), 2-Shubman Gill, 3-Suryakumar Yadav, 4-Shreyas Iyer, 5-Rishabh Pant (wk), 6-Deepak Hooda, 7-Washington Sundar, 8-Shardul Thakur, 9-Deepak Chahar, 10-Arshdeep Singh, 11-Yuzvendra Chahal
