7:10pm

Well, that prematurely concludes our coverage for tonight.

Thanks for joining us, and be sure to come back tomorrow for the final, where Norrie meets Gasquet.

7:00pm: Richard Gasquet (France) defeats Constant Lestienne (France) in a walkover

Oh wow. News is coming through that the second semi-final won't take place!

Lestienne has withdrawn with the injury suffered in last night's win over Laslo Djere!

That puts Gasquet straight into tomorrow's final then, where he'll be up against Norrie.

6:54pm

One more match to come tonight.

The all-French affair between Gasquet and Lestienne will get underway shortly.

6:50pm

What a showing from Norrie. He's reached the ASB Classic final for the second time, four years on from his last appearance.

The Kiwi-raised Brit finished short on that occasion, but will be firm favourite to get the job done tomorrow!

6:47pm: Cameron Norrie (Great Britain) beats Jenson Brooksby (USA) 6-3, 6-4

Norrie wins the first two points to go 30-0 up, and then aces Brooksby for three match points!

Can he convert after losing one in the last game? Norrie can't convert the first, and Brooksby gets it back to 40-15.

But Norrie does close it out! He converts the second match point, and the local favourite is into the final!

6:43pm

Brooksby to serve. Both players trade points to get to 30-30. Norrie wins the next to get to match point.

The crowd are willing him on. Brooksby saves match point though! We're at deuce.

Brooksby has advantage - twice - and Norrie saves both of them.

Brooksby gets a third advantage, and this time he converts it!

Norrie will still serve for the match.

6:37pm

Norrie takes a 40-0 lead, and keeps Brooksby to love to go 5-3 up.

Brooksby needs to hold to stay in this.

6:35pm

Short break as Brooksby is getting treatment for what looks like an injured foot.

He looks like he'll continue though, as Norrie serves.

6:29pm

Brooksby's serve, and Norrie gets to 0-40 for triple break point.

He only needs one - and Norrie does break! He leads 4-3 and can make it 5-3 if he holds serve.

6:27pm

Brooksby has two break point at 15-40. Norrie keeps his nerve and gets it back to deuce, and then gets to advantage.

And Norrie completes the fightback to hold serve!

6:19pm

Brooksby holds serve at the other end, and takes the lead for the second time in the set.

6:16pm

Norrie breaks back, and has the chance to level at 2-2 if he can hold serve next up.

And Norrie does hold! We're locked at 2-2.

6:07pm

Norrie to serve for the first time this set, but Brooksby breaks serve!

The American leads 2-0 in the second!

6:03pm

Brooksby serves to open the second set, and he holds to take a 1-0 lead.

5:56pm

Norrie gets to triple set point, and needs only one! The local favourite takes the first set!

5:54pm

Brooksby needs to hold, and goes 40-0 up, and keeps Norrie to love on his way to taking the game.

Norrie can still take the set if he holds, though.

5:50pm

Norrie goes 40-0 up with his own serve, and keeps Brooksby to love to go 5-2 up.

Brooksby needs to hold serve to stay in this first set.

5:47pm

Brooksby goes 40-0 up with his serve now. Norrie wins a point to get to 40-15, and then another to get to 40-30.

Norrie wins another, and we have deuce again! Norrie gets to advantage and break point, but Brooksby saves it to get back to deuce.

Brooksby gets to advantage, but this time Norrie saves it. Brooksby has a second advantage, but can't win this one either. Back to deuce.

Advantage to Norrie, and this time he holds on for a 4-2 lead!

5:35pm

Norrie goes 40-0 up in the fifth game, and holds Brooksby to love to take it.

5:33pm

Norrie goes 15-30 up against Brooksby's serve. Brooksby gets it back to 30-30, but Norrie gets break point.

Brooksby saves it, though, and we have the first deuce of the afternoon. Norrie gets advantage and his second break point, but Brooksby saves a second.

A third break point is saved by Brookby, before he gets his first advantage of the game. This time Norrie ends advantage, and we're back to deuce.

Brooksby hits a forehand winner for his second advantage, but can't convert this one either. Deuce.

Norrie hits another winner for his fourth break point, but can't convert it. Back to deuce. Brooksby lobs Norrie to get another advantage, can't convert.

Another Brooksby winner, another Brooksby advantage, but he hits out for another deuce. This game has now gone on for 15 minutes.

Norrie hits long for another Brooksby advantage, and this time he converts it!

5:16pm

Brooksby takes the first point against serve of the match, but Norrie still holds to go 2-1 up.

5:14pm

But Brooksby does the same. He holds Norrie to love and holds his first game.

5:10pm

Norrie very quickly goes 40-0 up in the first, and holds Brooksby to love to take the opening game.

5:06pm

Ready to go, Norrie will serve first.

5:01pm

Both players are out on court for their final preparations. No surprises that the Auckland crowd is supporting former Bucklands Beach junior Norrie.

But Brooksby has been no easybeat at this tournament, though.

4:50pm

Good afternoon! We're almost ready to get underway with the first semi-final!

Second-seed Cameron Norrie will face off against American Jenson Brooksby, before the second semi sees an all-French affair between Richard Gasquet and Constant Lestienne.

Play should be getting underway shortly.

*******

Kia ora, good afternoon and welcome to Newshub's live coverage of the ASB Classic men's tournament at Auckland's Stanley Street.

Rain continues to disrupt proceedings, with day four of play's quarter-finals only concluding in the early hours of Friday morning.

Local favourite and second seed Cam Norrie defeated American Marcos Giron in three sets after a few hours of delay.

The Kiwi-Brit will now play Jenson Brooksby in the first semi-final after the American defeated Frenchman Quentin Halys in straight sets.

Meanwhile, veteran Richard Gasquet came back from a set down to move past Belgian David Goffin and reach the semi-finals.

He will take on compatriot Constant Lestienne in the remaining semi-final after he too fought back from an opening set defeat to beat Serbian Laslo Dere.

The weather forecast suggests we could have a full day of play outside as scheduled, with only isolated showers predicted to cause any issues.

Both semi-finals will be contested on centrecourt with Norrie v Brooksby first up at 5pm, followed by Gasquet v Lestienne at 6:20pm pending a result.

There are also men's doubles in action with both semi-finals scheduled before the singles, as Croatian top seeds Mate Pavic and Nikola Mektic take on Austrian duo Alexander Erler and Lucas Miedler.

The other semi-final sees American duo Jackson Withrow and Nathaniel Lammons, who ended Kiwi Michael Venus' run, play Argentine/Spanish pair Horacio Zeballos and Marcel Granollers.

Today's order of play is:
