FULLTIME

80min - Warriors right on the tryline but a poor pass rolls along the ground and Butcher dives on it, before back-to-back penalties sets up a long shot at goal for Walker. He pushes it wide of the mark, and that's fulltime!

78min - Both teams running out of steam now, as they exchange errors with Butcher knocking on cold, giving the Warriors a scrum just outside the Roosters 30m.

76min - Johnson tries the cross-field kick, Warriors get up to pat it back but it's come free for the Roosters and they hack it ahead, before the Warriors clean up.

74min - Roosters look to be in again through Tupou but Suaalii knocked the ball in the lead up into Kosi and the bunker rules no try! But the Roosters win the penalty for obstruction. Walker nails the penalty goal and extends the lead - is that the game?

72min - Sironen is deemed to have ripped the ball and the Warriors opt for the challenge. Bunker rules Collins made a loose carry and the Warriors get it back! Harris looks to free up Walker but he drops it cold!

70min - Warriors win a fresh set of six from the offside penalty. They're just 10 metres out from the tryline. Kosi plays the ball but there's no dummy half! And the Roosters steal it right back.

68min - Egan throws the dummy, puts the fend on and he's away! He finds Sironen, but he's tackled just a couple of metres out! Warriors try the grubber but it's too heavy and goes dead.

66min - Warriors playing with an extra step in their runs now, as a good chase from Johnson's kick pushes Tupou back well inside the Roosters' half.

64min - WARRIORS TRY - FONUA-BLAKE

Niukore busts throught a tackle up the middle and finds a support runner in Fonua-Blake and he puts the foot down to run in underneath the sticks to score the try! Warriors hit right back!

62min - Martin's ball hits the deck but Warriors clean up, before Johnson kicks deep and the Roosters gather it in easily and reset from their own 20m.

60min - ROOSTERS TRY - WALKER

Keary puts Suaalii in a hole and he's away! He breaks one tackle, before Kosi does enough to hold on, but he flings the ball back in field to Walker and he's over for the try! Outstanding work from Keary to hold and show the ball before sending Suaalii away.

58min - Keary's through a hole! He's got Tedesco in support but the fullback drops the ball with only open field in front of him! Egan pressured him just enough!

56min - Tedesco is forced to run back and claim a tough catch over his shoulder from a Johnson bomb but he makes it look easy and absorbs the contact.

54min - Nicoll-Klokstad runs back the ball and is met hard, and he's not getting up. Looks like a head clash and he will go for an HIA. Huge loss if he can't continue.

52min - Harris deliveres a nice flat pass, before Johnson kicks high. Tupou takes it easily and runs it back, before the Roosters make the error and give the ball back.

50min - ROOSTERS TRY - PAULO

Keary finds Walker across goal and Manu catches the ball and draws in his opposite before freeing up Paulo to cut back in and crash over for his second try!

48min - Roosters just a few metres out, and Keary tries the grubber through...Nicoll-Klokstad attacks the ball with Tedesco beaming down on him and the Warriors fullback knocks on.

46min - Johnson tries to find a support runner but can't zone in on anyone and Willame can't bring in the ball from his bootlaces. But the Warriors force an error of their own with a great hit. Oh no, Montoya has been called for a high shot and he's gone on report.

44min - Suaalii makes another strong carry, but Thomas drops the ball cold in the middle of the park and the Warriors will get great field position on the Roosters 40m.

42min - Warriors get the first set of the second half. Harris takes it up over halfway, before Johnson kicks high and Tedesco claims it easily under no pressure.

HALFTIME

40min - Warriors penalised for escorting after Keary tried a kick through. It was Willame the guilty party. Roosters with one last chance but Turpin's kick is well defended and that's halftime!

38min - Warriors' defence again holds up well, before Johnson evades Keary and kicks long for Tedesco to return, and he almost breaks the line but for a desperate tackle.

36min - Johnson makes a great tackle to deny a charging Collins. Walker tries the grubber through and Nicoll-Klokstad cleans up and runs it back out of his own in-goal area.

34min - Suaalii gets the legs pumping and is tackled just a few metres out from the tryline. Collins is forced to kick after a poor pass, and it's good enough to win a line dropout.

32min - Warriors start from their own 10m, and Montoya is deemed to have made a bad play of the ball and gives the Roosters the ball in great field position.

30min - Johnson pins the Roosters back, and the home team can only make it to halfway before a kick makes contact with a Warriors player and they thankfully get a kind bounce.

28min - Harris carries the Warriors up near halfway before they kick long for Tedesco to return and Pompey meets him with a solid shoulder. Roosters hooker Smith has gone off.

26min - WARRIORS TRY - EGAN

Harris switches direction, Martin finds a surging Johnson on the inside and he rides the tackle of Tedesco, before offloading to Egan and he's over for the try!

24min - Nicoll-Klokstand finds Pompey with a nice inside ball and Suaalii is penalised for a late tackle, and he goes on report! The Warriors will restart 25m out from the tryline.

24min - Martin tries to find an unexpecting Curran but he can't bring it in and the Roosters look to counter, before Collins puts it down for the Warriors to return.

22min - Warriors restart from the drinks break, and they're just 10m out on the last. Johnson kicks but Suaalii rises high above everyone else and claims the catch in-field.

20min - Warriors get behind the Roosters line, with Walker squaring up the defence. Johnson floats a pass to Kosi and he's in space but Tedesco forces him into touch with a great tackle.

18min - Egan has a snipe from dummy half and Manu collects him high and the Warriors another penalty. Warriors will reset around halfway.

16min - Warriors struggling to keep the Roosters in their own half, as they concede another penalty, with Kosi pinged for an early tackle on the support runner.

14min - Roosters kick on the fourth through Walker to Kosi, and he's met by two defenders around the Warriors' 20m. Roosters piling the pressure on defence.

12min - Roosters win another penalty, as Pompey is penalised for obstructing the kick-chase from Keary's bomb. Roosters will have a shot at goal and Walker nails it to extend their lead.

10min - Martin finds Montoya with a floating cutout pass and the winger is met by solid defence. Johnson tries the kick but the Roosters field it and are awarded the penalty.

8min - Baker makes a couple of strong runs for the Roosters, before Keary kicks and Kosi again does well under the high ball and the Warriors win the penalty.

6min - ROOSTERS TRY - PAULO

Roosters get a fresh restart from the line dropout before two more sets due to Warriors infringing. They shift right to Tedesco and he times his pass to Paulo perfectly and the winger dives over in the corner for the game's first try.

4min - Ford gets up slowly and looks like he's being forced from the field. Barnett makes the error and the Roosters get the scrum around halftway. Not a great start for the Warriors.

2min - Warriors get us underway and the Roosters will have the first set. The home team make it just over halfway before Keary kicks and Kosi takes it well.

4:50pm - We're just 10 minutes from kickoff! Can Andrew Webster become the first Warriors coach to win his first two NRL games in charge? We're about to found out!

Kia ora, good evening and welcome to Newshub's live coverage of the NRL clash between the NZ Warriors and Sydney Roosters at Allianz Stadium.

The Warriors kicked off their 2023 campaign with a gutsy win over the Newcastle Knights in round one at Wellington.

Coach Andrew Webster has kept the faith in the 17 that triumphed at Sky Stadium, with Dallin Watene-Zelezniak and Jazz Tevaga still facing more time on the sidelines.

They will tackle a Roosters outfit hurting from their shocking season-opening loss to competition newcomers the Dolphins.

The Warriors' task has been made easier with Roosters star Victor Radley ruled out of the fixture with a head injury.

But Sydney do welcome back Kiwis star Joseph Manu, with hooker Brandon Smith also passing his HIA from last week.
