FULLTIME

80+4min - Chiefs are just five metres out, with phases well over 20 now. Nanai-Seturo is wrapped up well. Chiefs crash over but they're held up! And that's fulltime! Reds win!

80+2min - Reds put a late shove on at the scrum, but the Chiefs do enough to get the ball out. Chiefs playing with the advantage after a high-tackle. Nankivell makes a strong run, earning another penalty advantage..Narawa is tackled just 10 metres out. 

80min - Chiefs steal the Reds lineout! Finau is down again, so referee blows his whistle and says we'll have a Chiefs scrum to get us back underway once he's been attended to.

78min - The penalty is right in front, and Lynagh will have a shot to give the Reds the lead. He makes no mistake and nails the penalty. Can the Chiefs respond?

76min - Ioane makes a meal of the restart, as he tried to bring in the ball with his boot, only for the Reds to pounce on the loose possession. And the Reds win the penalty advantage! They're just five metres out, and win another penalty!

74min - CHIEFS TRY - FINAU

Chiefs playing with another penalty advantage, with phases over 17 now. It comes to Finau and he's got nobody in front of him and he's over for the try!

72min - Chiefs win their own lineout and begin to maul. Chiefs playing with the advantage, and come wide to McKenzie but he switches it back in-field before being tackled.

70min - Chiefs put the shove on at the scrum, forcing a reset, before finally winning the penalty the second time around. McKenzie finds touch around the Reds 22m.

68min - Finau is down, and looks to be in real pain, but we play on. McKenzie opts to kick once more and plants it out on the full...not what the Chiefs were after.

66min - McDermott is told to use it and puts up the box-kick for Narawa to run back. Nanai-Seturo beats one, but McKenzie opts to fire it down field.

64min - Reds happy to kick it down field and play in the Chiefs half, as Lienert-Brown struggles to bring in a McKenzie pass. Chiefs attack right, and the Reds knock on in the tackle.

62min - Chiefs with the perfect platform to launch an attacking drive from a five-metre lineout, but the throw isn't straight, and a huge let off for the Reds.

60min - Lynagh almost bobbles it but gets the ball away with a touch-finder near the Reds 10m. Chiefs win the lineout and are playing with the penalty advantage.

58min - REDS TRY - NONGGORR

Reds win another lineout and this time, are allowed to drive. They're just a metre out and look to be over, but are called just short! Nonggorr picks up and crashes over for the try!

56min - Reds turn down the shot at goal, and opt for the five-metre attacking lineout. They win it and again, win the penalty, with the Chiefs guilty of being too eager, hitting the lifter in the air.

54min - Reds win the lineout and the penalty advantage. Wilson is crunched in his first carry, but Reds just 10 metres out, and we'll come back for the penalty.

52min - Game really opening up now, but O'Connor's kick is taken in easily by Stevenson, who takes the mark. Officials missed an obvious early tackle on the Reds.

50min - Reds struggling to penetrate the rush defence of the Chiefs, before a flat pass is knocked on and Poihipi kicks it into touch.

48min - Chiefs opt for the shot at goal, and McKenzie will line it up about 35 metres out, bang in line with the posts. He makes no mistake and cuts into the Reds lead.

46min - McKenzie sets off on a run and he splits the Reds defence, before losing his footing! Narawa can't find Lienert-Brown with the offload, but the Chiefs win the penalty.

44min - REDS TRY - CAMPBELL

Reds finding their jumpers with more success now, as Vunivalu proves elusive with a strong run up the middle. They're right on the tryline, before shifting wide to several unmarked players in the backline and Campbell strolls in!

42min - Second half opens up with a game of forceback, with Lynagh having the final touch, finding the sideline around the Reds 10m for a Chiefs lineout.

HALFTIME

40min - REDS TRY - MCDERMOTT

Another Reds lineout, and another overthrow, but Slater is penalised for going off his feet. Campbell finds touch inside the 22m. This time, the Reds win their lineout, and look to drive their maul. McDermott spots space, breaks free from the maul and crashes over for the try!

38min - CHIEFS TRY - NANAI-SETURO

Reds still have the momentum on attack, but a loose pass is hacked forward by Nanai-Seturo, and he shows good composure to pick up the ball and stroll in for his second try!

36min - Ball is turned over and O'Connor is away! Selby-Rickit does extremely well to catch him from behind and drag him down. Reds just a few metres out but Chiefs win it back and clear.

34min - Chiefs again proving too strong at the scrum, forcing another penalty win. Chiefs on the Reds 22m, but the visitors do well to get over the ball and turn it over.

32min - Parker bumps off one, before Narawa is met hard by Vunivalu and the Reds turn it over, but McDermott's kick has too much on it and rolls dead.

30min - Reds lineout continues to haunt them, with another overthrow killing any potential platform to attack. Chiefs win the penalty and find touch around halfway.

28min - Vunivalu showing his rugby league background to get up and win the ball back for the Reds from the kick, before Campbell finds space with a kick to pin the Chiefs back.

26min - Chiefs pile the pressure on at the scrum, but the Reds do just enough to clear the ball and kick. The visitors not finding much success at the set-piece as they have all season.

24min - Reds lineout goes straight to a waiting Jacobson to bring in and charge at the unsuspecting visitors. Poihipi gets ride of McKenzie, but Slater knocks on.

22min - Parker nails the ball-carrier, before the Reds decide to clear down field. Chiefs outrun their penalty advantage, but Jacoboson knocks on after a flat McKenzie pass.

20min - Chiefs steal the lineout and they're suddenly just 10 metres out! McKenzie tries to get the feet moving but runs across his own player and is penalised for obstruction.

18min - Narawa is away! He beats several players before losing his footing around the Reds 22m. Stevenson tries an audacious offload but it can only find the sideline.

16min - McKenzie fires a wide pass to Finau, his grubber is collected by Lienert-Brown, but Campbell turns it over and now the Reds look to counter.

14min - Chiefs go short with the lineout and Slater breaks a tackle down the left wing! McKenzie tries the cheeky kick over the top but Reds do extremely well to scramble and clear.

12min - REDS TRY - BLAKE

Reds win their own lineout ball and find good success initially with their maul, before coming to O'Connor. They're just a metre out, and Blake crashes over for the try!

10min - O'Connor pounces on a loose overthrow from the lineout and breaks a tackle. Reds go back infield to their forwards, and Finau is penalised for a late tackle.

8min - CHIEFS TRY - NANAI-SETURO

Stevenson offloads to Slater, who does well to turn around and fling the pass out wide to a vacant Nanai-Seturo and he slides over in the corner for the game's first try.

6min - Chiefs win the lineout and look to drive their maul, with Slater at the back. McKenzie fires a cutout pass to Nanai-Seturo but he's met well and tackled into touch.

4min - Ratima is hammered, but does well to get the kick away and pegs the Reds back inside their own 22m. Chiefs pile the pressure on and force the Reds error on their own 5m.

2min - Reds win the game's first lineout and look to drive, but the Chiefs defending it well. Reds struggling to make much ground, before the Chiefs turn it over and boot it down field.

With rugby returning to New Plymouth, four Taranaki players have been named in the run-on side to welcome the Australians.

Prop Jared Proffit, New Plymouth Boys High School alumnus Bradley Slater, and All Black locks Tupou Vaa'i and Josh Lord have all been handed starts.

No.8 Luke Jacobson will captain the side in Sam Cane and Brad Weber's absences, with Cortez Ratima starting at halfback.

The Chiefs are unbeaten in their first 10 fixtures this season, and will fancy their chances to extend their winning run against the seventh-placed Reds.
