Kia ora, good morning and welcome to Newshub's live coverage of the second day of the second test between New Zealand and Australia at Christchuch's Hagley Oval.
The opening day was marred by a familiar Blackcaps batting collapse that immediately put them on the backfoot of a match they need to win to square the two-test series against the world champions.
Josh Hazlewood had the Kiwi batters in fits, taking a five-wicket bag, with opener Tom Latham (38) leading scorer for the home side.
Tailender Matt Henry provide a late flourish with the bat and later dragged his team back into the contest, working over the Aussie top order to take three wickets before stumps.
New Zealand still lead by 38 runs and will want early wickets this morning to stay close. They will especially not want nightwatchman Nathan Lyon to hang around, as he did at Wellington, when he threatened to score his first test fifty.
Join us at 11am for the opening ball.
