Kia ora, good evening and welcome to Newshub's live coverage of the Super Rugby Pacific clash between NSW Waratahs v Blues at Sydney's Allianz Stadium.

The Blues are hurting from their loss to the Hurricanes last week, a performance marred by a tactical blunder by coach Vern Cotter, who named only two backs to his reserves bench and was forced to use them in the first 20 minutes, with halfback Taufa Funaki playing out of position.

The predicament was compounded late in the game, when a third injury forced loose forward Hoskins Sotutu into a backline role.

Thankfully, Cotter has learned from his mistake and hasn't made the same mistake again. He's named a strong squad, featuring all his available All Blacks, with the returns of prop Ofa Tu'ungafasi and winger Caleb Clarke, and Sotutu back in the starting XV.

The Waratahs also suffered a disappointment last week, failing to back up their upset win over the champion Crusaders seven days earlier, as they fell to the Highlanders at Sydney.

Join us at 9:30pm for kickoff.
