Emirates has begun a worldwide campaign to recruit 3000 cabin crew and 500 airport services employees to join its Dubai hub over the next six months.

Yes, you read that correctly. While travel remains somewhat of a mirage on the horizon, the Middle Eastern airline is planning to be back to 70 percent of its capacity by the end of 2021, even scheduling the return of the iconic Airbus A380.

The airline currently flies to over 120 cities, 90 percent of its pre-pandemic network.

"Emirates has gradually restored its network operations in line with the easing of travel restrictions around the world, and over the past months, it has been recalling pilots, cabin crew and other operational employees who were stood down when the pandemic forced a drastic reduction in flights last year," the airline said in a statement.

All 3000 roles are Dubai-based.

Emirates said Dubai led the world in its pandemic response thanks to "strong leadership and public-private sector cooperation".

"The rapid vaccination roll-out in the United Arab Emirates and clear pandemic protocols have enabled Dubai to quickly and safely re-open to international tourism and business activities since July 2020," a company said.

The statement also included a claim about the benefits of living in Dubai, including its "welcoming culture, tax-free environment and leading infrastructure for living, working and recreation".

However, keen applicants should check the airline's careers website, which lists the requirements of becoming an Emirates flight attendant.

You'd need to be least 21 years of age, have an arm reach of 212cm while standing on tiptoes and a minimum height of 160cm.

Crew members must have no visible tattoos and a "healthy" Body Mass Index (BMI).

Candidates interested in joining Emirates can apply via the airline's career website.
