Airportle: The new version of Wordle for travel lovers

Worlde, the most talked about online craze since Yanny v Laurel, has a new sidekick with an aviation theme.

Airportle gives users six chances to guess an airport using its International Air Transport Association (IATA) three-letter code.

For example, Auckland is AKL, Wellington is WLG, famously JFK is the code for John F Kennedy Airport in New York and then there's LHR for London Heathrow in the UK.

The game was set-up by Scott's Cheap Flights, a website which alerts its users to cheap airfares flying to and from airports they've subscribed to. With over two million members, its site reaches well over 500,000 every month.

For Kiwi users, Airportle may be a little bit harder Given Scott's Cheap Flights is based in the United States.

Those attempting to play should probably do a bit of research on some of the more commonly known airport codes around the USA.
