Perth killing: Man charged with five counts of murder

Twin two-year-old girls are among five people found slain in Western Australia in a suspected mass murder.

Police revealed those who died were three generations of one family, and that a 24-year-old man has been charged with five counts of murder.

The gruesome scene of a murder investigation shows a children's slide and swing set in the house of horrors in quiet suburban Australia.

Two-year-old twin girls, their three-year-old sister, mother and grandmother are the victims of the violent rampage.

Their grisly discovery was made after a man in his 20s tipped off authorities at Karratha Police Station 1500 kilometres north of the Bedford house, sending police to the usually quiet street.

Forensic investigators worked into the night as they tried to establish what led to their deaths. The tragedy has stunned neighbours, who haven't seen the family in over a week.

The tragedy is the latest killing to send a ripple through Western Australia.

In May, Katrina Miles, her 13-year-old daughter Taye and sons Rylan, 12, Arye, 10, and Kadyn, 8 were all found dead at a private property in Osmington on Friday (local time).

It's believed that the owner of the property Peter Miles is responsible for their deaths. Mr Miles and his wife Cynda were also found dead at the property.

In June, a 19-year-old male was charged with the murder of a 48-year-old mother, her eight-year-old son and 15-year-old daughter in Ellenbrook, a suburb in north-east Perth.
