YouTube 'celebrity' arrested after livestreaming driving at 305 km/h

A "self-proclaimed YouTube celebrity" has been arrested after filming himself speeding over 305 km/h.

Beau Alan Rogel livestreamed himself driving down a Mississippi highway at high speed.

The video shows him being stopped by sherriff's deputies, who say they're responding to a call regarding reckless driving.

Still on camera, Rogel lies to the officers, repeatedly denying that he's been speeding.

But officials weren't amused to later find the YouTube video along with Facebook photos showing Rogel's alleged illegal weapon possession.

"ROGEL is a self-proclaimed YouTube celebrity and has posted videos of himself violating numerous traffic laws and showing absolutely no respect for the general motoring public," the Rankin County Sheriff's Office posted to Facebook.

"YouTube is not the first means of social media used by ROGEL to incriminate himself. Sheriff's Investigators were provided FaceBook screen shots of ROGEL possessing numerous weapons.

"In some of the threads, he is trying to sell or trade weapons and in others he is simply displaying the weapons."

They executed the search warrant at his home and he was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, as well as reckless driving.

His wife, Christina Ann Rogel, was also arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Rogel's 2017 Ford Mustang was seized for investigation.

After being released on a US$20,000 bail (NZ$30,000), Rogel then posted a new video blaming the person who complained about his driving for bringing "downfall" into his life.
