Social media site Twitter back up after global outage

Social networking site Twitter is back in business after a world-wide outage.

The outage lasted approximately an hour.

According to website downdetector.co.nz, 671 Kiwi Twitter users reported outages between 6am and 7am on Friday.

Worldwide, reported issues skyrocketed from 32 reports at 6am New Zealand time to a whopping 47,193 at 7am. 

The site has more than 100 million users worldwide.
