A daycare worker in Texas has been fired after a mother found a note in her son's lunchbox fat-shaming him.

Francesca Easdon sent her son, Kyler, to Rocking Horse Kingwood daycare with a note in his lunchbox from her.

"Please tell Kyler that his mommy loves him so much and I'm thinking about him," the note said.

But someone had replied to her message and wrote "No! Put him on a diet and go away!".

Easdon said in a Facebook post she sent this note to Kyler thinking it would make him smile at lunchtime, and was "absolutely livid" at the reply.

"First thing this morning I was at the school waiting on the director with my mother-in-law for a meeting.

"I was assured that it was being investigated and handled, yet almost no remorse was shown," she said in the post.

"The teacher that wrote this note confessed while I was at work and was fired," she said.

Easdon said she was introducing new healthy options in Kyler's lunchbox to work on his picky eating.

"Instead of his school being supportive I am in absolute shock at what happened." she said.

Easdon said she has since removed her son from this daycare and enrolled him somewhere new.
