Two people have reportedly been shot during a high school American Football game on Friday night (US Time) between Pleasantville and Camden high schools near the Jersey shore.

NBCPhiladelphia reports the shooting sent fans running for cover and the players were seen fleeing the field.

A reporter for Jersey Sports Zone, who was at the game, said one of the victims appeared to be around 10 to 14 years old.

He also confirmed that the victims were shot in the stands, and it wasn't any players on the field.

"We are receiving information regarding exactly what happened and who is involved however obviously this is an ongoing investigation and at this time we are not prepared to release any information on that," Pleasantville Police Chief Sean Riggins said.

Riggins confirmed it was a man and a juvenile who were shot and taken to hospital.
