A Florida teenager accidentally struck and killed her father during a driving lesson on Tuesday.
The 15-year-old had been learning how to park their Ford F-150 in a parking lot of Anderson Park, a spokesperson for the Tarpon Springs Police Department said in a statement.
WFLA reported the incident occurred when the father got out and stood in front of the truck to help the girl reverse into a parking spot.
Instead of reversing, she accidentally hit the accelerator while still in drive which drove the car over the curb, striking her father and then a tree.
The Tampa Bay Times reported the girl was "tending to her father" when police arrived. He was then transported to a hospital where he died around 8pm.
The crash is now under investigation.
