Two white men have been accused of "disgusting" racism by a black mother, who claims the men mocked and called her one-year-old "annoying" for making noises.

Footage of the confrontation, which occurred at Umezono Sushi and Japanese Grill in Las Vegas on Monday (local time), was uploaded to the mother's Instagram account.

The woman claims the men mocked her one-year-old daughter, "harassed" her and her 13-year-old sister, and called her child "annoying". She also alleges the man in the white shirt aimed "derogatory, disgusting, racist comments" at the family.

"I am so heartbroken for myself, my little sister but more importantly for my innocent, sweet baby girl," she wrote in the caption. "This is America."

Although none of the racist comments were captured on camera, the woman claims in the footage that the men had been "completely racist" because her child was "making noises".

"You're going to go viral," the woman can be heard saying. "That's the only way to stop you guys is by putting you on camera. Shame on both of you."

Both men then pull out their mobiles and also begin to record the exchange.

Simultaneously filming each other, the older man can be seen getting out of his chair and approaching the mother, sister and child at their table.

The man appears to invade the woman's personal space, putting his phone in her face.

"This is what happens when someone [is at] dinner that makes their children really, really noisy [sic]," the man says.

The mother tells the man repeatedly to "back off", reiterating that she doesn't feel safe and the police should be called. A staff member then intervenes and the man returns to his seat.

"Okay Ken, okay," the woman says as the men talk unintelligibly.

It appears the men were then requested to leave by the employee.

The footage, which has since amassed more than 2300 likes and 700 comments on the platform, attracted a wave of comments criticising the men's behaviour. However, other viewers questioned what the men said or did that constituted racism.

"How was that being racist? Annoying? Yes. Stupid? Yes. Unreasonable? Yes. Racist? No," one person commented.

However, others said the racism was evident as the white men had targeted a black child.

"Two older white men [are] making a fuss over this adorable little girl! They both should be so embarrassed," wrote another user. "[They're] old enough to know better."

Others also drew attention to how the man accosted their table, noting the mother did well to "keep her cool".

"So sorry that you had to experience this with your baby present," another commented.

In a post on Tuesday, the mother shared a screengrab of a TMZ article covering her experience, saying the confrontation had been "extremely traumatic".

She claimed the racist comments were made before she started recording and she didn't wish to repeat them.
