A baby found dead on a UK golf course could have been there for "weeks" according to local authorities.
The naked baby boy was discovered by a couple walking their dogs on Friday afternoon on the Brackenwood golf course in Bebington.
As the golf course has been closed due to the country's COVID-19 lockdown, investigators believe the infant could have lain there for weeks.
Police are now searching for the baby's mother.
Detective Chief Superintendent Lee Turner is quoted by the BBC as saying: "It is not clear at this stage when the baby died, how long the baby's body had been there or the cause of death.
"Extensive enquiries are currently being carried out to trace the mother of the baby to check her welfare and offer any support."
