A fisherman in Indonesia has found a baby shark with a "human face".

Abdullah Nuren caught the strange-looking creature in the waters off Rote Ndao, just north of Western Australia.

"I initially found a mother shark caught in the trawler net," he told ViralPress. "The next day I split the belly of the mother shark and found three pups in the stomach.

"Two were like the mother and this one looked like it had a human face."

Others compared it to the characters seen in the video for Pinkfong's viral hit song 'Baby Shark', which has been viewed more than 8 billion times on YouTube.

"Baby Shark's catchy song may have been a certified earworm, but this baby shark may truly haunt your dreams," Andi Ortiz wrote for entertainment site The Wrap.

Undeterred by its bizarre appearance, Neren took the dead unborn pup home.

"My home has been crowded with people who want to see the shark. Many people want to buy it, but I will preserve it instead. I think it will bring me good luck."

The report comes just days after a strange fish that looked like an alligator washed up in Singapore. It turned out to be an alligator gar fish, far from its native habitat in the US.
