New Zealand-born man Adam Agmon has been killed in action in Israel, according to reports.

The Israeli Defence Force has named Agmon on its list of soldiers killed in action.

Juliet Moses, from the NZ Jewish Council, also reported the news on X.

"May his memory be a blessing," she said.

A Facebook post by Agmon's family said he was a "cute, peaceful and loving" man who loved rugby and the All Blacks.

"On Shebbat he was called out with his friends to save settlements," according to the post.

"They killed two terrorists in Kibbutz Nirim and continued from there for cover ups - there he was killed."

Newshub has contacted New Zealand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs for comment.

It comes after the New Zealand Government on Thursday opened a new path for Kiwis trying to flee the Israel-Gaza conflict.

Foreign Affairs Minister Nanaia Mahuta said 90 seats have been secured on an Etihad Airways flight set to depart Tel Aviv in the coming days, which Kiwis and Pacific residents could apply for.

The flight would land in the UAE, where affected travellers could continue at their own costs, Mahuta said.

Advice remained for Kiwis who could depart the region to do so immediately.
