A Sydney supermarket manager has been stabbed after a brawl broke out over a jar of Nutella.
Shocking security footage captured the 47-year-old manager and a co-worker chasing down a man and woman suspected of stealing.
Witnesses told 7News the confrontation began over a jar of Nutella that the two suspects were allegedly trying to steal from the store.
The footage shows the store manager, who had just been stabbed, wrestling with a woman over a trolley of alleged stolen goods. Bleeding and clutching the wound on his stomach, the manager kicks and pushes the woman who refuses to let go of the trolley.
As his colleagues try to help, the alleged male stabber runs towards the manager and tries to attack the man again.
The manager doesn't back down, throwing a chair at him and chasing him out of the store.
"He was really brave, he's a brave boss," a witness told 7News.
Meanwhile, the woman, who is still holding the trolley, punches a worker in the face.
Onlookers called emergency services at around 4:15pm Sunday (local time). Within minutes, officers arrested a 31-year-old man and 21-year-old woman.
New South Wales Police said the pair were taken to Riverstone Police Station where the man was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, while the woman was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and larceny.
The manager was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition after undergoing surgery, police added.
