Kiwi musician Tiki Taane may again face charges after chanting “f*** the police” in front of police officers.

The chart-topping performer was playing at the Bassy Bizniz show at Mr Cue in Taonui St in Palmerston North early Sunday morning, Fairfax reports, when the police arrived.

Taane began chanting “f*** the police”, until he was asked to stop, then continued the chant as the police left.

Acting Palmerston North inspector Brett Calkin told Fairfax police were considering whether or not to lay charges.

In a similar incident last year, Taane sang the NWA song “F*** Tha Police” in front of police officers in Tauranga and was charged with acting in a disorderly manner.

He appeared in a Tauranga courthouse, but the charge was eventually dropped.
