Angelina Jolie is on an “eat clean” diet.
The ‘Changeling’ actress – who raises six children with her partner Brad Pitt – has reportedly been on the special weight-loss programme since she gave birth to their seven-month-old twins, Vivienne and Knox.
One of her friends told Britain’s New! magazine: “A few months ago, Angelina looked tired and drawn. Now she’s following this plan, she looks great – it even made a people wonder whether she’d had surgery, which made her laugh. She feels great, and it’s given her so much more energy, but also her hair and her skin look fantastic.
“Angie’s always been a fan of healthy eating anyway - knowing it would make her feel less tired was all the incentive she needed.”
The plan – which encourages Angelina to eat healthy wholefoods and was devised by fitness guru Tosca Reno - is designed to help women feel energised because their bodies will no longer be battling to digest processed foods.
Tosca explained: “It’s not about deprivation, it’s not about giving up one food group or another. Eating clean is about giving your body what it needs to thrive.”
To achieve optimum success Angelina is following set rules including drinking two to three litres of water and nibbling on six small meals every day – which nutrition writer Tosca says is simple for the busy mum to follow.
She explains: “Really, all you have to do each day is stick to the Eat-Clean principles. The basics of which are that you are eating a combination of lean protein, such a chicken or fish, and complex carbohydrates, like brown rice, in every meal, with lots of fruit and vegetables. A treat on occasion is fine, too – but have a nice piece of organic dark chocolate, not an entire chocolate bar.”
