A video of a Texan woman trying on a Chewbacca mask gained attention worldwide over the weekend, and now her kids are in on the action.

In the video, Candace Payne is sitting in the carpark of her local Kohl's store recording herself trying on her new mask. She says the mask is hers and not for her children.

Kohl's decided to jump in on the free publicity -- and has visited the family to give the kids their own masks.

Along with the masks, the family received a number of Star Wars related toys, as well as $2,500 in vouchers and 10,000 reward points.

Since the video went viral, the mask has sold out across the United States.

The video is being hailed as "a few minutes of pure joy", and Ms Payne titled the video: "It's the simple joys in life."

Her infectious laughter has garnered more than 50 million views.

"This is worth every penny!" she exclaims in the video.
