Star Trek star Chris Pine is in talks to join another out-of-this-world movie franchise in the role of Wonder Woman Gal Gadot's love interest.
Pine is close to signing on to portray war hero Steve Trevor, who the Amazons nurse back to health after his plane crashes near their Paradise Island home. The tribe's princess Diana falls in love with Trevor and agrees to leave her home and follow him to America.
Scott Eastwood was reportedly offered the role but turned it down to be part of another comic book action film, Suicide Squad.
Sources tell Variety a handful of young stars tested for Trevor, but Warner Bros bosses offered the role to Pine following a meeting with executives and Gadot.
Patty Jenkins will direct Wonder Woman, which will hit cinemas in 2017.
