A hotly-anticipated biopic of Diana, Princess Of Wales has bombed on both sides of the Atlantic after taking less than US$65,000 in the US in its opening weekend.
Diana, starring Naomi Watts as the tragic British royal, failed to impress UK audiences and barely scraped into the top five upon its release there in September, netting $934,500 in its first weekend.
Now the film has flopped on both sides of the pond after a limited release in the US brought in takings of just $64,914 and a lowly chart position of 38.
The film portrays the last years of Diana's life before her death in a car crash in Paris, France in 1997.
