Dredd review

By Kate Rodger

After a mid-90's misfire Dredd has been dirtied up and re-delivered to its avid fanbase with Kiwi Karl Urban filling Dredd's big boots.

The helmet never leaves his face, and mercy's not an option as Dredd 3D takes on ruthless drug baroness Ma-Ma as he dishes out judgement time across the futuristic Megacity One.

It’s R18 so this new Dredd is not a game the whole family can play, but he will no doubt more than nourish the needs of the hardcore Dredd fan. Urban's chin and his ruthlessness with his personal armoury certainly deliver, and Ma-Ma is one of the scariest most unhinged female villains Ive seen in a long time. Not for the fainthearted, and a good four-star cult comic watch.
