Forty hours of exercise might seem like torture for some – but that’s exactly what one group of pink panthers are doing to raise money for breast cancer.

A mixture of cardio, aerobic and strength exercises were run by former New Zealand SAS trainers at the Specforce gym in central Auckland. Fourteen teams took part, with approximately 250 people completing the circuits over the 40-hour period.

There were teams from:

  • Ponsonby Rugby Club;
  • Kings College;
  • Vodafone;
  • Kiwi Fern Athletes run by their coach at the NZ Institute of Sport (Nardine Oakes);
  • Family-based teams;
  • Friend-based teams.

More than $38,600 has been raised so far, with one team raising $9208 alone.
