Getting fabulous and glittery with Alf and Priscilla

It's glitz, it's glamour and it's as fabulous as you'd expect - so fabulous that afterwards I was spitting out glitter and breathing in glitter.

But I wanted to BE glitter.

Priscilla, Queen of the Desert has hit our shores for the eighth time, the musical sensation wowing audiences here for over a decade.

As a journalist, it's important to stay objective, neutral and calm when approaching any story. I failed on all counts. My heart was beating pink.

But seriously, have you seen the film? Because if you haven't, stop reading and go watch it now, then you can come back.

For those who have, just imagine being a part of that sparkly action. I got that opportunity and was a kid in a very shiny, very sweet candy store.

Stepping on stage, you're hit with every colour of the rainbow. You start glowing because everything around you glitters like a star.

I'm still trying to get over how my morning played out. There's really no point explaining how I feel, I'll just tell you what happened and leave you with that.

It started off with the nicest lady in the world approaching me with Venus' robe and asking me to wear it. I was then lead to a podium attached to the most amazing angel wings.

All of a sudden, I was being strapped in and hoisted up over 15m in the air, like an angel.

The music started and with that, I descended. Who better to meet me at the bottom than Ray Meagher, aka Alf Stewart, the nicest, most humble man in the world, dressed in a kangaroo suit.

Either I made an impression or he was just being nice, but he said: "You'll be a great addition to the show".

I smiled and thought to myself, is this my true calling?
