Dates for the New Zealand leg of Guns N' Roses' Not in this Lifetime stadium tour have been officially announced, after rumours the rockers were heading to the country leaked on Friday.

The band's currently touring the US and South America, before heading to Australasia in 2017.

The shows will be the first time New Zealand fans have seen lead singer Axl Rose and former members, Slash and Duff McKagan play alongside each other since they toured the country in 1993.

Guns N' Roses will play at Western Springs Stadium in Auckland and Westpac Stadium in Wellington over Waitangi weekend in 2017.

The Wellington show is scheduled for February 2, while the Auckland show will be on February 4 - with those two dates already known by many fans after a promotional poster made its way to social media last week.

New Zealand concert promoter Paul Dainty said earlier this year he was pushing hard to get an Auckland show added to the band's world tour.

The rockers last played on New Zealand soil in 2007, at Auckland's Vector Arena.

Tickets go on sale on August 31 at 10am.
