Electro-soul singer James Blake has pulled out of this month's Laneway Festival - like Lorde, citing a clash with the 56th Grammy Awards in Los Angeles.

Blake has been nominated for Best New Artist.

His spot at Laneway has been filled by the Presets and Cat Power.

"Laneway supports James Blake’s decision to go to the Grammys," Laneway co-promoter Mark Kneebone said in a statement.

"We are totally gutted that he is unable to make it, however we appreciate this is a huge achievement for James Blake and his career. Due to James Blake's tight tour schedule it is not possible for us to schedule replacement dates."

Organisers have offered refunds for anyone unhappy with the changes.

Other acts scheduled to appear at Laneway include CHVRCHES, Haim, Jagwar Ma, Savages and Kurt Vile.

Laneway will be held at Silo Park in Auckland, January 27.
