Actor/singer Jared Leto sent his Suicide Squad co-stars including Will Smith and Margot Robbie creepy gifts as he prepared to play comic book villain The Joker.
The Dallas Buyers Club star was not present at the start of filming due to commitments with his band 30 Seconds to Mars, so he sent the cast presents as The Joker to show he was getting into character.
His co-star Adam Beach tells E! Online, "He sent Harley (Quinn, played by Margot Robbie) a nice love letter with a black box with a rat in it - a live rat. It was beautiful. Then he sent bullets to Will and a letter. And a dead hog and a video of him in character [to everyone]... Basically, what he said was, 'Guys, I can't be there but I want you to know I'm doing my work as hard as you guys' and the video he showed us in character blew our minds away. Then we realised that day, this is real."
