Journalist un-banned from Hobbit premiere

A Radio New Zealand journalist who was told she couldn't attend next week's premiere of The Hobbit has had her ban reversed.

Cushla Norman had her accreditation for the event revoked yesterday, told via email she had filed too many negative stories about the film.

Distributor Roadshow, which issued the ban, told Radio New Zealand it could send someone else, but they refused.

This morning however, a representative from Sir Peter Jackson's Wingnut Films rang Radio NZ to tell Ms Norman she could report from the red carpet after all.

Wingnut said her accreditation should not have been revoked, and that the company does not have a media blacklist.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey has its premiere in Wellington on Wednesday next week.
