Miley Cyrus has thrown some shade at her fiancé Liam Hemsworth, telling Ellen DeGeneres that she isn't a fan of her engagement ring.

The 'Party in the USA' singer and the Expendables 2 star have had a tumultuous relationship, splitting shortly after the former Disney child star infamously reinvented herself with a raunchy performance of 'Blurred Lines' with Robin Thicke in 2013.

Their relationship was rekindled earlier this year, but may be in trouble again after Cyrus confessed to feeling "weird" about the diamond ring, which she says "isn't really my aesthetic".

Hollywood gossip reporter Dominic Bowden says: "The funny thing was what she said about her future husband - 'Look, I don't really like it, it's not really my thing, but I wear it because he loves me.' It was kind of a backhanded compliment."

Cyrus admitted that most of the jewellery she usually wears is "made out of gummy bears and cotton candy".

DeGeneres replied that Hemsworth "could have saved a lot of money" by getting her a candy ring instead of a rock.

Bowden says that Cyrus, along with a lot of younger, millennial celebrities, has been busy this week campaigning for Hillary Clinton.

It's believed she will be married to Hemsworth in Byron Bay, Australia, in early 2017.
