Ozzy Osbourne donated US$10,000 to a youth band in Kentucky after watching a viral video of the kids performing a cover of one of his songs.

The Louisville Leopard Percussionists, a group of about 60 students aged seven to 14, posted a video of their all-percussion version of Osbourne's 'Crazy Train' nearly three years ago, but the rocker only viewed the footage recently, and he was so impressed by their talents that he decided to help support the non-profit organisation.

According to local newspaper The Courier-Journal, Osbourne sent a US$10,000 cheque to the group, which is completely funded by donations, album royalties and performance fees.

Along with the monetary gift, he wrote a note which reads: "Myself, my whole family and my fans all loved your rendition of 'Crazy Train'. Keep up the good work."

The Louisville Leopard Percussionists have also earned praise by Jimmy Page for their cover versions of songs by Led Zeppelin, and were even invited to take to the stage alongside My Morning Jacket.
