Pamela Anderson brought WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange a bizarre offering - a vegan lunch.

The actress, best known for playing C.J Parker on TV show Baywatch, told Britain's Press Association that she gave Assange the meal "and some vegan snacks" after visiting him at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London and fearing for his health.

She was pictured carrying bags from Pret a Manger, a popular European sandwich chain.

Jokingly, Anderson told reporters that Assange was not happy with the meal.

"He said I tortured him with bringing him vegan food," she said.

Anderson's connection with the whistle-blower is unknown, however she claims to support his cause.

"I really believe in him and think he's a good person, and I'm concerned about his health, his family, and I just hope that by some miracle he's set free."

Assange has been living at the Embassy for over four years, having been granted political asylum by Ecaudor.

He is due to be questioned over rape allegations in Sweden, which he emphatically denies.
