"Because I'm the real one. I'm the one New Zealand is going to be able to relate to."

That's why housewife Angela Stone says she should be your favourite on the show.

"I'm a mum, I work, I make my own money. I'm not all about flashy flash ra ra ra. Yes we all like the finer things in life but you know what? I think it's really important to be a really good person."

The stylist became the centre of attention for all the wrong reasons in last night's premiere of The Real Housewives of Auckland when fellow cast member Michelle Blanchard called her a 'plus-sized model'.

Angela Stone says the attack on her body shape blew her away.

"I've never encountered a woman attacking me like that and that was really real. She wasn't acting."

Stone didn't once mention Blanchard's name in the interview, maybe with the hope to erase the memory all together.

"I wondered why and where she was coming from, just the nerve of that comment and her behaviour."

The brunette bombshell quickly realised the name-calling was less about herself and more about Blanchard's own issues.

"Once I removed myself and I went back in there and I thought wow, she must be a really unhappy woman to project what she had to say to me.

"I realised, this is not about me, this is about her and her own insecurities."

She says this is only the beginning of many more personal attacks.

"There's lots more of this kind of stuff to come as well. I think sometimes when people don't like themselves they try and project that onto somebody else and I seem to be that one."

The housewife is quick to say she's 'in the business of empowerment' and didn't let the situation get to her. She encourages other women to do the same.

"I think it's really important for women to be able to support each other so I'm not going to fall down a crumbling heap here. I'm like 'ladies, don't ever let someone talk to you like that ever again'. Confront them and just say 'what are you on about, why are you being like this?'"

As for Tuesday night's episode...

"There's so much more drama. Bit of fun but there's a really beautiful, spiritual aspect to tonight.

"Tonight we get real."
