French electronic music pioneer Jean Michel Jarre is set to release his new album, Electonica 2: The Heart of Noise, next month. It features a few big names -- the most shocking Edward Snowden.

Snowden is a former US CIA employee who copied and leaked classified information from the National Security Agency without authorisation. He then fled the country, with Russia eventually granting him temporary asylum.

Jarre was introduced to Snowden with the help of The Guardian, one of the newspapers who helped Snowden to leak the NSA documents.

"I wrote a speedy techno track evoking the constant and hectic production of data and the obsessive quest for more information," Jarre said in a press release.

"I then linked the music with this mad hunt and chase in order to get hold of people like Edward Snowden."

Unfortunately for those expecting Snowden to give us a tune, he will be instead reading thoughts on freedom of speech and privacy rights, Billboard reports.

"It's about an action which may change everything from where we are to another direction, a departure to somewhere else," Snowden stated.

The Heart of Noise will be out on May 6, and Snowden features on the track 'Exit'.
