Stephen Merchant has become something of a triple-threat in the comedy world.
He's part of the brains behind television comedies The Office and Extras, has had film roles in Ghost Town and The Invention of Lying, and now he's trying his hand at stand-up comedy.
His work on The Office alongside his friend and comedy partner Ricky Gervais may have launched the career of Martin Freeman, who stars as Bilbo Baggins in Peter Jackson's The Hobbit, and now as part of his Stephen Merchant Live: Hello Ladies tour he's come to New Zealand.
David Farrier caught up with him.
