After Kate was sent home, five became four and The Bachelor NZ, Jordan Mauger, was starting to feel the pressure.

He wasn't the only one, though. The girls were all feeling torn between their loyalties to one another, yet all dating the same man.

For Gabrielle, she was missing her good friend, Kate, which didn't help the already difficult situation.

"It's definitely not the same without her around. Out of all the girls here, if it wasn't going to me that Jordan chooses, then I would've said it was going to be Kate and that's really thrown me."

Erin was chosen to go on the single date, where Jordan took her on a cave exploration, accompanied by some pretty cringey dad jokes and creepy Gollum impressions.

He redeemed himself when he turned off the lamp to take a look at the glow worms on the cave ceiling, and when the lights went back on he surprised her with a pair of diamond earrings.

The pair then shacked up in a cosy barn for some champagne and Lord of the Rings banter, followed by some deep and meaningful conversation about their childhoods.

On top of the earrings, Erin also received a rose, cementing her place in the final three.

Naz and Gabs were then whisked away on a group date to Waitangi Park for the group date, where the trio were set off downhill trail biking.

Naz was focused on keeping up with Jordan, but Gabs struggled a bit -- however comradery wasn't high on Naz's to-do list. When Jordan realised it, he stopped to wait for Gabs.

She didn't turn up so Jordan set off to find the damsel in distress, leaving Naz behind, meaning both girls got some one-on-one time.

At the cocktail party, the girls began to realise every second spent with Jordan counted. So far, Fleur was the only one who hadn't spent any time with him. Naz wasn't impressed when her rival asked for the first solo time of the night with Jordan.

Tension was high already, and confrontation between Naz and Fleur was inevitable.

Jordan confessed to Naz he didn't have any doubts about anyone in the house, and choosing someone to go home at this point was the most difficult decision he'd had to make the entire competition.

In a bizarre turn of events, they started dancing on the balcony before being interrupted by Gabs.

Then it was time for the showdown between Naz and Fleur over a 'pact' they'd made earlier in the episode. Fleur was not ready.

Fleur ran away from Naz in tears and confessed she wanted to go home.

"I don't know if I can do this," she cried to Jordan when he came after her.

With Erin already having secured a rose, there were only two left for three girls.

And after Jordan presented Fleur with a rose, he had to take a break -- clearly not sure about who the last rose was going to go to.

However, he'd confronted Gabs earlier at the cocktail party about her 'poker face' when it came to emotion, and after some reassurance from Mike Puru, he chose to send her home.
