Described as 'a contemporary story with a strong message', The Pa Boys follows a fictional Wellington reggae band as they embark on a tour from the capital to Cape Reinga.
The Pa Boys is the directorial debut from Himiona Grace, the son of acclaimed novelist Patricia Grace and a part of bands Survival and Dread Beat.
Grace wrote the film's soundtrack with Warren Maxwell (Little Bushman, Trinity Roots, Fat Freddy's Drop).
Produced by Ainsley Gardiner the film stars Fran Kora, Matarki Wharatau, Tola Newbery, Roimata Fox, Juanita Hepi, Calvin Tuteao, Troy Kingi and Nancy Brunning.
The Pa Boys is set for a New Zealand cinema release on Waitangi Day, February 6, 2014. More information is available on the film's Facebook page.
