It's hard to put your finger on what cool is - even defining it feels a little uncool.
Kurt Cobain once said he would rather be dead than cool. But he was of course cool before and after his untimely death.
Now we are closer to getting hard facts though - the phenomenon of being cool has recently been the subject of scientific research.
