Top Wellington acts asked for Fringe Festival encore

Fringe Festivals across the country have all wrapped up for another year, but the cream of the crop from the Wellington festival have been asked to give an encore.

The first of this year's picks, The Intricate Art Of Actually Caring, follows two young men trying to find themselves in the only way young men know how - a road trip.

"We were really excited, crazy, scared in a way at first because we'd just done it in a room," says actor/writer Eli Kent. "So it was like how are we going to do this."

That room was his bedroom, and the second play, A Most Outrageous Humbug, was originally performed in a forest.

The third is Poly-Zygotic, a play that tracks the trials and tribulations of triplets preparing for White Sunday.

"It's been a privilege and an honour to be picked," says director Charlotte Bradley. "It was something that we didn't expect, but we're grateful for the opportunity."

The season runs until May 7, so there's only a week to catch it.
