Upcoming Wonder Woman film called a 'mess'

An open letter attacking DC superhero films, including upcoming release Wonder Woman, has been released online.

The letter, alleged to be written by a former Warner Bros. employee, criticises the film studio's CEO Kevin Tsujihara for releasing a series of critical flops, of which Suicide Squad is the most recent.

The author claims that Wonder Woman, currently in production, has been called a flop by those working on the picture, prompting director Patty Jenkins to respond in a series of tweets.

"Zero about the movie we are making has been called a mess by anyone in the know. Fact."

Jenkins also questioned the integrity of the source, who still remains unidentified.

"You can't [produce a source] because it's entirely false. Don't believe the hype people."

The author also believes that Zack Snyder should be punished for the critical slamming his film Batman v Superman received, rather than allowed to produce and direct future instalments in the DC cinematic universe.

Despite failing with the critics, most of the films mentioned in the letter have been major box office successes, with Suicide Squad currently topping the box office.

Wonder Woman will be released in early 2017, and stars Gal Gadot in the titular role.
